About the Author:

Before achieving acclaim as the author of “Soldiers From the Mist,” Ruth Burkett Weeks, also known as R. H. Burkett, shared a unique claim to fame with her brother: they were the first girl/boy twins born at Washington Regional Hospital in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

“Soldiers From the Mist” marks Burkett’s debut novel, distinguished by its origin story–an encounter with the ghost of a Confederate soldier who haunted her home. The book not only narrates the soldier’s tale but also incorporates actual dialogues and events experienced while collaborating with this spectral presence, aptly dubbed Whisperings, lending new significance to the term “ghostwriter.”

In addition to her literary accomplishments, Ruth Burkett Weeks boasts an award-winning writing career and has contributed to the literary community through her service on the board of the Ozark Writer’s League in Branson, Missouri, and as a judge for writing competitions. She holds membership in esteemed organizations such as the NorthWest Arkansas Writers Workshop, Oklahoma Writers Federation, Ozark Creative Writers, Women Writing the West, Mystery Writers of America, and Western Writers of America.

Following her debut success, Burkett released her second book, “The Rook and The Raven,” a paranormal romance published by The Wild Rose Press, now available in eBook format for Kindle and Nook readers. Her latest endeavor, “Daughter of the Howling Moon,” blends elements of paranormal, suspense, mystery, and the occult, recently published by Pen-L Publishing in both paperback and Kindle editions.
